The practice lockdown at Bluefield High has now been lifted.
Bluefield High School is under a routine, practice lockdown. Law enforcement officers and canines are on the scene. There is no threat.

A potential threat was reported at Bluefield High School. The threat was reported and investigated and it found to not be credible. Police and school was involved investigation.

Mrs. Thompson’s 9th Grade English classes have been studying Washington Irving’s Rip Van Winkle. As a classroom activity, her students created comic strips to summarize the story.

Jeremy Thompson, a 2016 Bluefield High School graduate, spoke to four of Ms. Williams' classes on Monday. Mr. Thompson has degrees in criminal justice and business administration from High Point University and now lives and works in Washington DC. He shared about the various ways to define success and some personal habits that will ensure achieving it including goal setting and time management. Thank you, Mr. Thompson!
