Hello, Little Beaver Families! We had a fantastic first day here at Bluefield Intermediate School! Your patience and understanding with dismissal procedures and bus times was greatly appreciated! We placed tags on student's backpacks to help keep track of each child's end of day arrangements. Please encourage your child to leave their tag in place so that they will last throughout the year. Students should have several forms in their backpack that need to be completed. Please return those as soon as possible. Hello, Little Beaver Families! Thank you to everyone that came to our Meet the Teacher event this evening! We are so excited for a wonderful year with our Little Beavers! Morning drop off begins at 7:00am and our tardy bell rings at 7:35am. Car riders will be dropped off at the entrance on the third grade wing, near the employee parking lot from 7:00-7:20am. Those car riders that arrive after 7:20 will be rerouted to the main entrance. Any time car traffic and buses intersect, the bus will have the right-of-way. Afternoon dismissal will begin at 2:20pm and go through 2:45pm. This year, we will be starting dismissal with our car riders. As buses arrive, we will halt car traffic to allow the buses to access their loading zone. When family and friends come for pickup, we ask that you drive down to the Pavilion to turn around so that you can join the back of the line to wait for traffic to move. Please position your vehicles as far over on the shoulder of the road as possible so that the residents of Southview Drive and the employees of the Pavilion are still able to drive around our school traffic. We ask for your patience as we fine tune these processes here at the start of the year. Set those alarms and get those Little Beavers ready for the best first day of school! Hello, Little Beaver Families! We hope that you all are having an amazing summer and that our students are looking forward to starting school in a few days! We wanted to let you all know that the new city park, the Ridge Runner Fun Zone, will have a ribbon cutting ceremony on Monday, August 12th at noon. Since our students, along with our friends at Bluefield Primary, played a role in the naming of the new playground, we hope to see many of the children of the Bluefield community at the ceremony. Hello, Little Beaver Families! The Mercer County Schools food truck will be at Bluefield Primary School from 11-12:30 today, Thursday, June 13th serving FREE lunch to students! Today's menus is Pizza Quesadillas, Broccoli with Ranch Dip, Fruit Cup, Milk or Water. There will also be PB&J Sandwiches, Carrot Sticks, Applesauce, & Water for take home meals! Hello, Little Beaver Families! As in previous years, we've planned an outdoor Fun Day that includes water activities for the last day of school. The weather forecast is now indicating a high possibility of rain for the majority of the day, so there's a chance we may end up needing to switch gears to do indoor play. If your child is attending tomorrow, which we certainly hope he/she will, please send an extra set of clothing and a towel so that they are prepared to do the water activities should we be able to proceed with our original plan. Many thanks to each of you that attended our awards and graduation ceremonies today! Hello, Little Beaver Families! This message is to remind you that we will be doing the tie dye incentive with students that earned the required points for effort and cooperation during state testing. Please be sure your child wears old clothing or things that won't be harmed if dye splatters on it during this activity- this also includes shoes. If your child brought home his/her testing Tshirt, which most did not, please be sure to have him/her return it tomorrow. This Thursday, June 6th is our annual outdoor water day. Students may not wear bathing suits but are encouraged to wear waterproof shoes, bring a towel, and have a change of clothing. We're looking forward to having fun these last four days! Hello, Little Beaver Families! Tomorrow begins our state testing! Please be sure your child goes to bed at a reasonable time so he/she is well rested in order to focus on the tests this week. It's also important for your child to arrive at school on time each day of the testing. We also wanted to let you know that our roof HVAC units are being replaced. There are dumpsters and storage trailers on the premises because of this project. The work will not begin until the conclusion of state testing, but we wanted you to be aware of the reason for these additional units on our property. There should not be any disruption to our instructional days nor should our regular traffic patterns be compromised. Finally, yearbooks are on sale for $20. Money can be sent in to the school or you can order online at Strawbridge.net using code YB29880. Online ordering is the only way to personalize yearbook covers. Have a great evening!

Attached to those letters were colored papers in labeled envelopes that were meant to be used to write notes of encouragement to your child as they begin those assessments. There's a dance on Wednesday, April 24th from 5-6:30pm. Students must have an 80% or higher in Conduct and have no Out of School suspensions during the current grading period in order to attend. Admission is $5 and concessions are sold separately. Finally, there is no school for students on Friday, April 26th.
