Hello, Little Beaver Families! Tomorrow, Monday, May 22nd will be tie dye day for our 3rd graders who earned the required points for their effort on the state testing. Please be sure to have your child wear old clothing in case they get the dye on themselves. If your 3rd grader has already brought their testing t-shirt home, please be sure to send it back in tomorrow. Also, this will be the last week for students to work on their STEM boats for next week's challenge. Please be sure to send in recycled materials and adhesives so that your child is able to participate in the boat race next week. Thank you and have a great evening!

Hello, Little Beaver Families! Tomorrow, Friday, May 19th will be the tie dye incentive day for 4th and 5th grade students that earned the required number of points during state testing last week. Please be sure to have your child wear clothing that won't be ruined if dye gets on it. Also, if your child brought his/her testing shirt home, please have him/her bring the shirt back tomorrow. Third grade and Mrs. Hayworth's class will tie dye on Monday, May 22nd. Enjoy the sunshine this evening!

Hello, Little Beaver Families! The Bluefield High School 2023 Graduates that attended BIS will be visiting for the annual Graduation Walk on Tuesday, May 16th. We ask that students and staff wear Beaver attire or anything maroon on Tuesday in celebration of our special guests! Enjoy the evening!

Hello BIS families! Our students are working on creating boats as part of a STEM challenge. We ask that you send in emptied and washed water bottles, milk jugs, laundry detergent bottles, lunch meat containers, etc. Students also need materials to secure these objects together to help create their self-propelling watercrafts. Boat construction is happening this week and next so please be sure to send in your contributions as soon as possible! Thank you and enjoy the rest of this sunny evening!

Hello BIS families! Just a quick reminder that tomorrow is Spring Picture Day! The photographers will also be doing Cap & Gown Pictures of our 5th graders. Summer School interest forms are due Tuesday and we have our Spring Title I Family Engagement Night Tuesday evening from 4:30-6:00. We hope to see everyone out that evening! Enjoy this sunny Sunday!

Hello, Little Beaver Families! Flyers have been sent home about a couple of important things and we wanted to be sure that you've received the information. Spring pictures for all students as well as Cap and Gown pictures for 5th graders will be taken on Monday, April 3rd. Pictures can be purchased online through Strawbridge or by sending payment in to the school. We will be hosting a Title I Family Engagement night on Tuesday, April 4th from 4:30-6:00. We hope you'll be able to join us! Finally, BIS will be having a Summer School program on June 12-16 and 21-23. Interest surveys have been sent out and must be returned by Tuesday, April 4th so that we know how many students to plan for. Have a great evening!

Bus 606 is running 10 minutes late. This affects Bluefield Primary, Bluefield Intermediate, Bluefield Middle and Bluefield High.

Update: Bus 598 has just picked up at BIS and will be starting to make deliveries of students. Traffic is now able to flow from highway 460 coming from Princeton direction toward Bluefield Intermediate. Traffic from Maryland Avenue and from Virginia is still blocked at this time. Thank you for your patience.

Hello Little Beaver families! There has been a wreck at the intersection of highway 460 and Maryland Avenue. While no buses are involved in the collision, our afternoon bus deliveries and impacted by the traffic delays. Bus 598 and Bus 668 have not picked up from BIS yet. The highway in front of our school is blocked at this time. All students that have not yet been picked up are safely being supervised. Thank you for your patience as emergency personnel address the wreck and clear the scene. Thank you!

Hey, Little Beaver Families! Just a reminder that we will have Strawbridge Photography with us this Tuesday, January 24th. They will be doing individual pictures for anyone that was not at BIS for our original picture day in September. Anyone who didn't order pictures on the original day but would like to order now can also take an individual picture. Strawbridge will also be doing class pictures when they are with us on Tuesday. Please contact your child's teacher or the school if you did not receive informational flyers that were sent home previously. Enjoy the rest of the evening!


Attendance Matters!


Friday, January 13th will be a Re-Imagined Day for all Mercer County schools. Students will remain home and join their teachers in Teams meetings on their devices using the schedule previously provided by their school. Staff report to school on a two hour delay.


Hello, Little Beaver Families! Tomorrow is our first day back from Winter Break! Be sure to set your alarms tonight and have things prepared to make the tomorrow morning go smoothly. The tardy bell rings at 7:35 and students need to be in class at that time. Set a goal to be at school and on time every day during the month of January. We're excited to see all of our students bright and early in the morning!
