We had a great time supporting the Beavers in the Homecoming parade! Thank you to all our friends & parents who helped us out to make this happen! We even got to see some of our little Smurf Beavers 🦫

Good evening! Tomorrow kicks off our fun Fridays with hat day! If your child wants to wear a hat to school they just need to bring a $1. Thank you!

Good evening! Starting this week we will be having Fun Fridays with the option for students to participate in dress up days for $1. Please see the image for the schedule of events. Thank you!

Good morning. This is an update that there is sales tax for items purchased at the book fair. The images are for your reference on the additional costs. Thank you!

Book Fair was a hit Friday and we will have it all this week! Thank you to our parent volunteers! We couldn't do this without you 🧡

Good evening! This is a reminder that the Scholastic Book Fair will begin tomorrow as well as College colors day meaning students can wear their favorite college colors or gear. Also, please don't use the pick up line as time to buckle in your student or get them situated in the car. We have space in the parking lot for you to pull over. This will keep our pick up line more efficient, safe and get everyone through in a timely manner. Thank you!

Mrs. Goforth's 2nd grade class was our first weekly attendance winner having 100% attendance last week!! They get to have the school tiger mascot for a week and since they were the first class to win they get the honors of coming up with 3 tiger names for the school to vote on!
Congratulations 👏🐯

Parents we apologize for the inconvenience but we do not have a substitute bus driver for 624 this afternoon. Please make arrangements for someone to pick them up if you can not. Thank you!

Good afternoon! This is a reminder that all PIT crew t-shirt orders must be prepaid and turned in by Friday, September 22. Our 1st PIT crew meeting will be Monday, September 25 at 5:30 pm. We hope to see you then!
Also, when your child is tardy or has an early dismissal you must escort them to the office and sign them in. We are getting things ready for our Scholastic Book Fair that will begin on September 29th. Thank you!

Attendance matters! We are halfway through September and our attendance incentive is to tie dye shirts with all students who have perfect attendance this month! We can't wait to see how many we will have!

We will be sending test reports home soon with students and are going to celebrate all our hard work and success on Friday with some "Glow Time" for students. If you would like to donate some glow items by Friday, we would appreciate the support! Thanks!

Academy Days

Good afternoon! In honor of the memory of 9-11 we would like to encourage students and staff to wear red, white, & blue tomorrow. Also, parents who pick up students in the afternoon: please be aware that we are moving the first 3 pick up spots out farther beyond the gate into the parking lot to avoid the slick mud in front of the school. Pick up spots 4 & 5 will still be at the bottom of the ramp. We will do this until further notice. Thank you and have a great evening!

Mrs. Goforth's 2nd graders enjoyed learning about story elements this week while exploring the story "Clark the shark". 🦈

Mrs. Thompson's Kindergarten students had such a good time today reading "Chicka Chicka Boom Boom"!

We are excited to announce a new attendance incentive this year! For students who have perfect attendance (no absences, tardies, or early dismissals even excused) we will reward them with a special activity each month! We know perfect attendance can be hard to achieve, and that's why we want each month to be a new opportunity for students to earn the reward. This will begin on Tuesday, September 5. We look forward to seeing you all day every day!

We have a slight lunch menu change for September. Thank you!

Good evening! We made it through the first day of school, not without a few bumps here and there, but that is to be expected. I want to thank everyone for your patience with us as we worked out some transportation issues. Please return you child's emergency card tomorrow if you haven't already. We can't stress enough how important this is. We need current phone numbers to contact you in case we do have an emergency or issue arise. Please remember you can not park and walk your child over in the mornings or walk over in the afternoons to pick them up. This is too dangerous and safety is our priority. Tomorrow is the Bluefield vs. Graham game and we would like to support our Beavers by wearing their school colors tomorrow! Thank you and have a great evening.

Good afternoon! We are so excited for our first day tomorrow! Our number one priority is your child's safety, so please make sure you send the teacher information on how they will go home. If you are not sure where your bus stop is, please just stand on the side of the road near your home. The driver will see you and pick up your child. Bus drop off at the school will start at 7:00 am. However, parent drop off will begin at 7:10 am. If you are in the loop please do not pull up to the main building until 7:10. Remain far enough back for buses to come thru. Guidelines for the afternoon pick up are as followed: do not pull into the loop until 2:25. The lot across from the school can be used for you to wait at. Please do not block the main road. A staff member will be coming to your vehicle for your child's name. Your child will be lined up outside with staff members. If you are not on the emergency card we will not release a student to you. We may ask for your drivers license to confirm. Do not ever pass a car in the pick up line, we have students who get in on both sides and this could be potentially very dangerous. If you have younger children still in booster seats or who need help with seat belts please pull up and out of the loop into the parking lot to assist your child. Do not remain in the loop. Remember our priority is safety of students. If any of these procedures are not followed you may be instructed to use the bus as transportation. If you have any questions please call. We ask that you be patient and understanding with us as we do what we need to, to ensure the safety of your child. The first few weeks may take longer than you are used to, but we will improve and become quicker with time.
