Tomorrow is our first day of remote. Use this schedule to get through the day. Assignments will be graded. We wish it was a true spring break, but having a calendar that starts after Labor Day left us no room for snow days and Mother Nature is bound to show us some snow love every winter. We have made an adjustment to the calendar for next year. We live and learn. 🙂. Finish up early each day so you can get in some relaxation.

Although we love our children dearly...we must remember that they are in need of discipline. They need us to teach them how to do things the way adults must do them so that they are prepared for their future.
It is so easy to be the lawn mower parent that plows over anyone or anything that their child doesn't like. But we have to stop and realize that adversity is a huge part of life. We will have to deal with difficult people. We will have to do things we dont want or like to do. We will have to spend at least 8 hours a day working to earn a living.
Now is the time to start helping your child develop these skills. Teach them how to work out conflicts peacefully by using kind words. Teach them to manage difficult people with a smile. Teach them to clean up after themselves, to eat using manners, and to help others when they are in need. These skills do not just come to us. They must be modeled, practiced, and learned. This needs to start the day they are born. Being a good parent is so hard. We want to give them everything they ask for. We want to protect them from the ugliness of the world. But what we must do instead, is teach them how to navigate these difficult waters, blossom, and grow to be amazing adults. It starts now!

There is no school on Monday for Spring Break. Student's will follow this remote schedule Tuesday-Friday. Try to work in some time for fun and relaxation. We posted some ideas today. If you have any questions, please feel free to call the school.

Mrs. Elswick loves her Bengals and they love her too! She teaches so many social and emotional skills to help them succeed. She builds them up and guides them through the tough stuff. She is the best! Not to mention all the hugs she shares. ♡
