Mark your calendars! The Glenwood School Meet the Teacher Event is scheduled for Wednesday, August 20, 2025! This event will be held at two separate times- one for our Middle School students and one for our Elementary students. Middle School is scheduled from 2:00-3:00pm. Our 6, 7 and 8th grade students will receive their class schedules and are welcome to go to the different classrooms to meet their teachers from 2:00-3:00pm. Elementary is from 5:00-6:00pm. Our Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students are welcome to visit their classroom to meet their teacher! Glenwood Middle School Football, Band, Volleyball and Soccer updates: As a reminder, students must have a completed physical on the WVSSAC form dated after 5/1/25 and proof of insurance prior to participating.

Don't forget about the MCS Express Food Truck this week! Today they're in Bluefield at the Greater Mt. Zion Pentecostal Church. Tomorrow at the First Christian Church across from Straley School, Wednesday at Matoaka Summer Day Camp at the Matoaka Fire Department, and Thursday at the Montcalm Volunteer Fire Department. Each day is from 11:00-12:30. Bring your kids for food and fun!

We are proud to announce that Glenwood School has been selected to receive a special 200k Little Free Library! In recognition of the 200,000th Little Free Library milestone, the Little Free Library nonprofit organization has granted 200 book-sharing boxes to Title I elementary schools in the U.S. Each library includes 200 engaging and diverse books from Penguin Random House, which has donated 40,000 books in all.
