robotics2024

The Princeton Middle School Robotics program sent five teams to the West Virginia State Championship event at Fairmont University to compete for the state title and a chance at qualifying for the World Championship in Dallas Texas. The teams competed in a variety of areas including team-work challenge, skills challenge, and a judged engineering design competition. The team-work challenge involves two "drivers" working with another team of two to score as many points on the field of play as possible in a one-minute match. It requires collaboration and group effort to maximize the opportunity. The skills challenge also involves driving, but also incorporates an autonomous coding skill as well. At the end of the day, 16 deserving teams moved on to the finals for a chance to win the state championship. Princeton Middle School's Team A - "The ABEE Bots" finished in 3rd place, narrowly missing the world qualification. They were also awarded the Build Award through the judged competition. This award recognizes high achievement in all areas of the competition including the engineering design notebook and interview.
