Congratulations to Brianna Asbury, Shea Hoops, Jessiah Hunt, Alexis Hyman, Hannah Regas, Anastasia Robinette, Aileen Avalos Gonzalez, and Chelsey Matthews! These MCTEC Culinary and Tourism students have been awarded the Hospitality University Award for Excellence in Tourism! The Hospitality University recognizes excellence in tourism education for individuals seeking to become professionals in the tourism industry. Award winners are currently attending the Hospitality University Conference at The Greenbrier along with their teachers, Michelle Dye and Melissa Meachum.
















The Practical Nursing program at the Mercer County Technical Education Center administered 850 flu shots to members of their community. Instructors and students collaborated with the Mercer County Health Department to visit and administer flu vaccines at 10 sites during Fall 2025. They also participated in a Senior Expo sponsored by the Princeton Health Care Center. The Coordinator/Instructor of the program is Michele Perkins, RN, BSN, MS. The other two instructors are LaVerne Fields, RN, BSN, MS and Doris Akers, RN, BSN. Both Michele Perkins and LaVerne Fields began their nursing careers by completing the Practical Nursing program at MCTEC and returned as instructors to train future nurses.
