Congratulations to the MCTEC Mustangs robotics team! They are high school VEX VR5C champions of the recent Kanawha County Schools VEX Robotics Competition. Winning this tournament qualifies them to enter the state championship to held in March at Fairmont State University. Members of the team include Kaydence Grimm, Ethan Wolfe, Johnathon Meadows, and Jadyn Yahya. Team coach is Barry Jones.

Mrs. Bailey's and Mrs. Bryant's Healthcare Occupations⚕️students practiced skills using stethoscopes 🩺 and taking vitals today! They will apply these skills during clinical placements. These students are also enrolled in free💲college classes!

Mercer County Public Schools has been awarded a School Building Authority (SBA) grant for Project 1, launching Phase 1 of an exciting expansion at the Mercer County Technical Education Center!
This addition will allow us to grow career and technical programs, expand dual credit opportunities, and create even more pathways for students to graduate college- or career-ready—right here at home.
This investment is about preparing students for real-world success, strengthening our workforce, and building a brighter future for Mercer County. We’re proud to keep moving forward for our students! 🎓⚙️

Collision Repair 🛻 students are applying auto body and paint skills on projects big and small! Daryl Barton is teaching them to perform quality workmanship. 🏆

Future machinists ⚙️ are manufacturing CNC parts and operating mills and lathes at MCTEC! Machining skills are in demand and these students 😁 are prepared with needed career skills!






Plumbing 🚿 students at MCTEC are learning and applying valuable skills everyday! Their teacher, Eddie Odle, has them working on projects 👨🔧 indoors and outdoors in a simulated workplace environment.










ProStart Restaurant Management and Baking & Pastry 🥮 students practice skills to make delicious 🥟 food at MCTEC. Future chefs 👨🍳 and culinary masters are in this group!
