We will be having Easter Bunny pictures on April 17th. Please see the order form in your students folder. This is separate from Strawbridge Spring pictures.

Congratulations Ms. Duncan! We are so lucky to have you as part of the Sun Valley team. Your hard work does not go unnoticed, inside and outside of the classroom!

Happy Paraprofessional Week to our AMAZING Teaching Assistants!

April is designated as the Month of the Military Child, a time to recognize and celebrate the contributions and resilience of military children, and their unique experiences and challenges. The month aims to raise awareness about the needs and experiences of military children, who often face challenges like frequent moves, deployments, and separations from parents. We will celebrate with spirit week next week!

As we move farther along in the school year, don't forget that attendance still matters!

Mercer County Schools has created a universal link for parents and guardians to upload absence excuses. This form is the same for all schools in the county. A new laminated card will be coming home with your student soon.

If you or someone you know is a grandparent raising grandchildren, this resource may be helpful.

It's time to start preparing for Pre-K and Kindergarten registration in Mercer County! Check out the information below to stay up to date on pre-registration forms and the documentation you'll need to bring on registration day.

Often, crises arise outside of school hours. If you ever find yourself in need, United Way is available to help. Just call 211 like you would call 911.
211 is a free, confidential, and 24/7 service that connects individuals and families in need with critical community resources. These resources may include:
Emergency shelter
Food assistance
Financial aid

Disaster relief
And many more
By simply dialing 211, callers can access a trained specialist who will assess their needs and connect them with the appropriate community services.
We encourage you to share this valuable information with the students and families you support. 211 can be a vital lifeline during times of crisis or when immediate assistance is needed.
For more information about 211, please visit the United Way website at https://wv211.org/.

Now that school is in full swing, don't forget about the importance of attendance! Even during this holiday season, we continue to provide core instruction.

Many of us struggle during the holiday season. Don't forget that the school system has partnered with the Cook Center to offer free coaching for our staff, students, and families. You can sign up at any time to start your free sessions.

DID YOU KNOW.... the new collaboration with the Cook Center not only provides free coaching for students, parents, and staff, they also have free courses from Behavior to Bullying to Suicide Prevention. All available courses can be found at https://parentguidance.org/all-courses/

Sun Valley Elementary now has a website containing frequently accessed information, including the registration application, out of district policies, attendance information, counseling resources, and newsletters. This site can be accessed at https://sites.google.com/view/lnnash/home.
