✈️📊 Mrs. Mills's math students at Princeton Middle School took learning to new heights!

Students designed and created their very own paper airplanes, each with unique styles and features. After testing their planes with 20 flight trials outside, students collected and analyzed real-world data from their flights.

Using their results, students calculated the:
📈 Mean
📉 Median
🔢 Mode
📏 Range
📊 Interquartile Range (IQR)
➖ Mean Absolute Deviation (MAD)

Hands-on learning + creativity + math in action = an awesome day in class! We are so proud of the creativity, teamwork, and critical thinking our students demonstrated throughout this project. 💙🧡

🍽️📐 Mrs. Mills’s math students at Princeton Middle School put their Ratio & Proportion and Unit Conversion skills to the test in a delicious way!

Last week students worked with recipes designed for serving sizes ranging from 2 people all the way to 102 people. Using their math skills, students adjusted ingredient amounts to create the correct number of servings needed.

After completing their calculations, students headed to the cafeteria where they used measuring tools and their newly created recipes to prepare their food creations. Then came the best part — taste testing their own recipes and sampling their classmates’ dishes! 😋

Good thing their calculations were correct… or those recipes may not have turned out so well! Thankfully, everything was delicious, and students had an amazing time applying real-world math skills in a hands-on learning experience.

We are so proud of the hard work, teamwork, and problem-solving our students demonstrated throughout this activity! 💙🧡

Students in Mrs. Cutlip’s class took creativity and learning to the next level by designing their own original games and presenting them to the class! Each group demonstrated how their game worked while explaining the ideas and strategy behind it. It was awesome to see so much creativity, teamwork, and confidence on display. Such a fun and engaging project! 🎮👏

Mr. O'Dell's classes have been doing a group-work activity that helps students learn how to communicate and work with each other and use STEM skills to solve a task. The task - use paper index cards to build the tallest tower - one that can touch the classroom ceiling! This activity helps prepare students to work in groups as we begin some end-of-the-year STEM activities. Students first brainstormed in groups a design for their towers and then used the design process to construct their towers!
