Thanks to MCTEC, Mr. O'Dell received shelves for his Project Lead the Way supplies! Mr. O'Dell's 8th grade class used critical thinking (does this look right?), reading (directions) & engineering (what if I did it this way?) skills to assemble them in ONE period for him! :)
Mr. O'Dell's classes have been preparing for group work for Code and Project Lead the Way. Today, students had to work in groups to design an aluminum foil boat and see how many pennies they could get to float before it sank! (This activity is also a Jason Learning activity!)

Mr. O'Dell's classes have been working with Micro:bits, which are small, computer-chip-like devices that introduce students to how software and hardware work together and have an LED light display, buttons, and many input/output features students can program to do various things!

Several reminders - Friday morning during homeroom is the last opportunity to purchase a dance ticket. This must take place before 8:15am. For the dance, students must be picked up on property at 5:00pm. Only those students with a daily walking pass will be allowed to exit through the gate to meet parents at another location. 8th graders need to return their permission forms for the Gear Up trip next Friday. Information for Homecoming this evening - the gates will open at 5:30. Homecoming candidates must arrive at 5:30 and will be admitted free of charge. Family members will need to purchase a ticket. Tickets can be pre-purchased online. We will only have one cash box for tickets at the gate. The Homecoming ceremony take place before the game and begin at 6:15pm. The game is scheduled to begin at 7:30pm. We hope everyone will dress warm and wear their blue to support our TIGERS!
