Mrs. Samosky's 6th Grade Science class had a blast today!! STEM challenge: design a paper boat that holds the most pennies. Students could only use 1/2 sheet of paper. The students' best design held 66 pennies!


Bus 007 will not run today, Friday, May 27th. This affects Oakvale, Pikeview Middle and Pikeview High.

PikeView Middle School was on lockdown due to a social media threat/tiktok trend at PVHS. The source has been identified and detained. The PVMS lockdown is now lifted and the building is secure.

Just a reminder that permission slips for the Camp Creek field trip, scheduled for June 1st, are due by this Friday, May 27th. A signed in permission slip is required in order to attend. Please return your permission slip to your 1st period teacher.


Students who purchased a 21-22 Yearbook had a special Yearbook Signing Day today!




Today PVMS hosted 5th graders who will attend our school next year. Both our band and choir performed (videos will be posted to our Facebook page) and some of our students helped give tours of the school.

Tomorrow, Wednesday May 25th, is the last day to turn in any make up work in for all classes.


Permission forms for our upcoming PBIS field trip to Camp Creek were given out yesterday in 1st period to those students who have maintained an A in conduct throughout this school year. Those signed forms are due back to 1st period teachers by this Friday, May 27th. As stated on the form, if a student's conduct grade drops below an A prior to June 1st, he or she will no longer be eligible to attend.


PikeView Middle School will host Awards Day for each grade level on the following dates and times:
8th Grade Awards- Friday May 27th at 8:30 am
7th Grade Awards- Tuesday May 31st at 1 pm
6th Grade Awards- Tuesday May 31st at 8:30 am.
Guests, please enter the building in the cafeteria doors beginning at 8 am on the 27th for 8th grade awards, at 8am on the 31st for 6th grade awards, and at 12:30 on the 31st for 7th grade awards. We hope to see you there!

Mrs. Pettus' 8th Grade ELA classes have spent the last three weeks making a poetry book. Today the classes held a Poetry Cafe in which they chose a poem to read to the class and had snacks! 🖤❤️

STEAM TAC program at WVU helped Mrs. Samosky's classes with engineering projectile launchers. They used a scatterplot to graph their many attempts at getting to ball on the basket. They learned about kinetic and potential energy to get it in the basket.
