Today our JROTC cadets along with their instructors, Captain Daniel and Master Sergeant Riggs, conducted a memorial service for 9/11. They recognized all of the brave first responders and people that lost their lives that fateful day. We are so thankful for the hard work our JROTC put into this program. ❤️🤍💙# LovemyWVschool

High school is a time of growth, change, and sometimes challenges. Mercer County Schools and PikeView High School
wants every student to know—you are not alone. This month, we’ll be highlighting activities and conversations focused on suicide prevention, mental health, and coping strategies for tough
times. Whether it’s reaching out to a trusted adult, finding healthy outlets, or supporting a friend, your actions can make a difference. Let’s work together to break the stigma and remind one another
that hope and help are always within reach.

Stem in Art! Mrs. Woods’ photography class created camera obscuras today. Since light travels in a straight line (law of optics), the image inside is inverted. The size of the image inside the camera is related to the distance to the pinhole. Students traced the images just like humans first did in the 1100s.

PVHS 2024-25 Yearbooks are now in and ready for pickup. If you ordered a yearbook last year, they will be given out during both lunches on Friday, August 29. Students that graduated last year may call the office and arrange for their yearbook to be delivered to the office for easy pickup any day this week or next week.

If you did not order a yearbook and wish to purchase one, they are $55. However, we have very limited numbers of extras and they will be sold on a first come, first serve basis.

Just a reminder:

All students should be dropped off at the flagpole in the loop daily with the exception of those who drive to school or ride with someone who attends PVHS and drives to school.

No students can be dropped in the student parking lot unless arranged with administration for specific reasons. There is no loitering in the parking lot. All students should enter the building upon arrival.
